Now on this blog, I almost never promote a product. But this one is too good to pass up on. I first heard about this book/audiobook in this articles: Eat That Frog Review. I was pretty skeptical at first, but after reading a bit of it, I could tell this was different than a lot of those other, “Cure Your Procrastination” books out there.

This one is written by Brian Tracy, a world renowned author, speaker, and researcher. He had spent over 20 years with a large team researching productivity and this book is the culmination of all of that research. He went to extremely rich and procuditve people and asked them why they are so productive. He did this literally thousands of times and organized all of the answers into 21 different lessons. If each day you focus on one of these lessons in 3 weeks you will be a task completing machine.

Listen to this from the review linked above:

“Throughout the book, Tracy tries to instill in you an addiction to completing tasks. It sounds a little less harsh than it really is. His theory is that people can actually become addicting to completing tasks or projects, and the more addicted to it, the more things you actually get done.”

It really quite amazing. I am now a huge fan of this book and a huge fan of Brian Tracy. Check out the link above for more information on the book!

Here are three more ways to avoid procrastination. When it comes to procrastinating the first thing that you must do to end it is by coming clean and admitting that you have a problem. This is a true statement. Procrastination is really in the mind and if you want to stop doing it you have to make your mind up ASAP and decide that you are going to change your habits.

If you are following along, you will be glad to hear about some good pointers that will assist you in producing a more productive way of living.

1. Make a list of things to do.

You may have heard of this statement before but the truth is that it is effective. For some reason making a list can cause a breakthrough in your thought process, and your conscious will know exactly what it needs to do before it allows the body to do it. If you are going to start anywhere in your journey from procrastination you should start with making a list.

2. Step away from distractions and find a quiet place.

A great way to stop procrastinating is to narrow down the amount of tasks that your mind can handle. Distractions like your party animal friends and even your favorite television shows can cause you to procrastinate. The library is a very good place to work on tasks and it is usually free of frequent distractions. You may also want to go to your local park or a quiet room in your home.

3. Start being productive in and proactive.

The truth is kicking the habit of procrastination in not an easy task. Not by a long shot. Bad habits of procrastination or any habit is hard to break when you do it so often. You have to incorporate more productive habits into your life no matter how much it hurts. You may go through “culture shock” at first and it will be a different change. But you will notice afterwards that everyday you will be getting more and more tasks done while ignoring distractions. Before you know it procrastination will be nothing but a memory.

All people procrastinate every now and again. It is a trait that we humans have inherited and more and more people wish they got rid of it. There are many reasons why people procrastinate and if you ask them you will get a thousand answers. The fact of the matter is that more times than none, procrastination is caused by a few common factors.

1. The fear of failing.

Most people do not start projects because they feel that they won’t complete them. One of my favorite quotes is “A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.” If you don’t make that “first step” then you will never be able to look back and think about the hurdles that you overcame. Failure is nothing to be afraid of. As a matter of fact, failure is one of the best teachers around.

2. Fearing Success.

Fear of success is an uncommon cause of procrastination that exists today. If would be utterly surprising if this was the reason behind your procrastination. The fear that most people do not acknowledge fear has a lot to do with the problem. You need to dig to the bottom of why you are afraid of success and analyze it. More than likely you are afraid of change in your life and if you happen to succeed you may not like it.

3. Becoming unmotivated by the possible outcome.

One of the most common reasons why many people procrastinate is because they are just not motivated enough to get moving. You can definitely apply this to many different things. For instance, if a school student gets a good grade and does not feel any desire to be motivated for their just reward. To them the rewards that they sow are just too far to reap. Some individuals have careers that they do not enjoy at all. It is hard to motivate yourself if the work that you do does not hold your interest or is boring.

4. Deadlines don’t exist.

Deadlines give people wake up calls to let them realize that procrastination is very much alive in their lives. Deadlines exist to halt people from taking the opportunity to procrastinate and completely give up on the task at hand. Deadlines are the enemy of procrastination which the lack thereof has caused many people to procrastinate in their lives.

There are a lot of people, who do not make all their work on time and they end up losing their jobs or facing other serious consequences. That problem is commonly called procrastination and in this article you will learn great ways to avoid it.

•	Before you start working on anything, spend some time and find out what are the main things that you should do. See what the main things that you should do are and make everything possible to do them.

•	When you are setting your priorities, make sure that the worst one of your daily assignments will be done first. That way, later on you will have easier tasks and your whole day will be a lot better. Most of the experts say that this is one of the best ways to avoid procrastination.

•	If there is something that you do not want to do, it is a good idea to try to find out someone else to do it for you. That way you will avoid procrastination and you will focus on other things that you enjoy doing.

•	Make a simple list of all the tasks that have to be done each day and once you get one of them done, give yourself some small rewards. That way you will not only avoid procrastination, but you will also improve your self-confidence.

•	Spend some time and see what the things that you do instead of doing your work are. That way, you will learn what the main reason why you procrastinate is and you will easily eliminate those bad habits. It is a good idea to give yourself some small rewards when you get the job done with procrastinating, because that way you will feel a lot better when you get your job done.

•	Make a timetable of all the tasks that you have to do every day. That way, you will improve the way that you work and also you will avoid procrastination. Once you get some of your tasks done, simply draw a line on them and start with the next one.

•	At the end of your work day, simply write down all the things that you have done. There is no better way to reward yourself for getting done all the tasks that you had and also that is one of the easiest ways to increase your confidence.

•	Finally, make a list of all goals that you want to achieve. Do not limit yourself to just the next day, but for the next couple of years. That way you will know exactly what to do to achieve them and you will avoid procrastination for sure.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the main thing that you should know to avoid procrastination is that you have to set your own goals and make everything possible to achieve them as soon as possible. Once you make that happen, you will notice that you do not procrastinate anymore.

Procrastination is a call to action. Avoid the same tasks that will give you the results that he is still not very smart. You have to intensify and strengthen their resolve. The easiest way to add itself to action is to take a decision. Decision is the father of the action and the action stems from the decisions.

Who and what is at this moment in time is merely the result of their actions consistent. The same is true for what will become a person. Being caught in the destructive habit of procrastination only serve to immobilize you and deprived of a future that could end up being just a dream. Overcoming the postponement does not have the magic “cure”, but requires you to develop yourself and really grow in their ability to act. Procrastination is really strange behavior, but definitely not by design, since it gives you the strength needed to push in order to build your inner strength and “emotional muscle.”

Delay is a call to action. Avoid tasks that will give them the results that he is still not very intelligent. You must intensify and strengthen their resolve. The easiest way to add itself to action is to take a decision. Decision is the father of the action and the action stems from the decisions. The challenge is that we have been using the word decision so loose that it has lost much of its true meaning. When you make a real decision, a real commitment, cut off all other possibilities which is absolutely committed. Like any other skill you need to improve decision-making, making more of them and as this capacity develops, the better to overcome the postponement until eventually develop a habit of being critical.

A truly committed decision to turn his “duties” under “musts.” In fact, this fundamental distinction between action delinquent mentality and decisive achievers. All we have we have and we only get our “duties”, when appropriate. The most common reason why people are postponing things just do not feel “it. When I have no desire to do so, simply means that you associate more pain to the adoption of measures to prevent it. As human beings we are in great As under the control of our emotions and feelings. You will do almost anything to avoid painful emotions and increased pleasurable emotions. Your beliefs about what is going to cause pain or pleasure serves as a reference that will guide you decision-making. Change your limiting beliefs is an efficient way to overcome the delay. The only reason that can not take action is because of their belief (s) why you can not.

Beliefs are designed as a shortcut to your mind to make decisions quickly. Even if you do not have the exact experience of his mind made up on the basis of their beliefs. We all have a built-in security needs and our beliefs give us a sense of security. The most potent of all beliefs are the beliefs you have about yourself and your own skills and abilities. If you believe you are one procrastinator and never can go ahead and create results, then no matter what strategy or technique to learn or apply, you will always be a procrastinator. Your beliefs about yourself, create your identity and one of the strongest need in your character is for their actions to be consistent with their identity. Whatever the identity be kept will create your reality.

Their beliefs are mostly formed unconsciously by life experiences and the sense of taking it. You are the master of meaning and how to communicate their experiences of life to determine yourself what things mean to you. The way of talking and communicating with oneself is a form of hypnosis and most people give a real hard time when the foot. They give a negative self-talk. Dis-allowance is installed beliefs about their abilities and capabilities. Overcoming the postponement requires you to take control of its internal communications. What you say to yourself about yourself and your life at some point to determine what actions to take.

People who are happy, successful and lucky not met or born under the stars well, but are people who have learned to overcome procrastination and take action, even when I do not want. When I have no desire to do so is simply not in an emotional state of resources. The quickest way to change this situation is to change your mental focus, changing its concentration and are paying attention. When focusing on the painful and unpleasant aspects of any job that finally begin to procrastinate, even if it is incredibly disciplined. Their focus is their life experience. Learning to control and direct their attention to pleasant aspects of measures to help you overcome procrastination. Develop the habit of taking the long view, to focus on the result and not the process and see yourself move past procrastination.

Procrastination is the delaying of actions or tasks to a future time. Procrastination is said to be a behavioral condition that affects a wide range of people from college students to professionals. Procrastination begins with a fear: fear of change, fear of disapproval, or fear of failure. The procrastinator’s fear can be anything. Many times procrastinators are labeled “lazy”, which is seldom the case. Procrastinators would much rather be thought of as lazy than lacking ability. This fear of judgment makes procrastinators evade the action or job with protective excuses for delays. According to Timothy Pychyl in Psychology Today, “All procrastination is delay, but not all delay is procrastination.” There are 3 types of procrastination.

Arousal Procrastinator
The arousal procrastinator likes the surge of adrenaline felt when a task or project is due in 2 hours and they are pulling an “all-nighter” to finish the job. These procrastinators wait until the last minute to complete an action because of the euphoria felt in the chaos. Self-labeling themselves as a person who works better under pressure is how they would describe themselves. College students are a great example of arousal procrastinators. They hold off on studying for an exam until the night before, than drink tons of coffee and stay up late studying.

Avoiding Procrastinator
One of the types of procrastination is made by avoiding procrastinators, and they are fearful. They have fear of failure. Fear of success, fear of failure, you name it and procrastinators fear it. These fears, rooted in self-esteem, are highly limiting. Avoiding procrastinators would much rather miss a project because they lack time-management skills than be judged for their abilities.

Decisional Procrastinator
Decisional procrastinators are those individuals who can never make a decision. We have all met someone like this. It is very frustrating. The lack of decision ensures that the procrastinator will not have to take responsibility for any negative outcome of events. The New York Psychotherapy Group calls these procrastinators “worriers”; “The worrier prizes security above all else and pays a steep price for it.”
There are many types of procrastination, arousal, avoiding, and decisional, and they can have detrimental effects on individuals. Procrastination can affect their health, work interactions, and private relationships by the simple act of doing nothing. It is a behavioral condition that needs active solutions to guide healthy thinking and action.

Procrastination is one of the biggest things that everyone does. Procrastination is one of the worst things that anyone can do. It can hinder you from meeting your goals as well as deadlines that you may have. The meaning of procrastination is simply, you put something off until later and for the majority of us, putting something off til later means that it never gets done, or done really sloppy.

Over coming procrastination can be on of the most difficult challenges for someone to do. There seems to be less and less time to get something done. There are ways to overcome procrastination and techniques that you can in order to get the most of your time. Understanding the true meaning of procrastination will help over come it and get the job done.

One of the best things to realize when it comes to procrastination, is that no one can do everything or anything perfect. One of the best ways to overcome procrastination is to get organized. Organization can be one of the key factors in getting many things done during the day.

Another thing that someone wanting to overcome procrastination could do is take the time to sit down and do a self analysis. You need to come to grips with not being able to doing everything perfectly and all in one day. Stress is one reason that many people procrastinate. Being able to relieve stress is an amazing way to eliminate procrastination from your life.

The next time that you have something that you need to get done, do not look for something else to do. Stop for a minute, take a deep breathe and relax. Then you need to think about the task and why you must complete it. Think about what you will gain from getting the job done. Then get to work and get the job done.

Being a procrastinator is one of the worst things in the world to be. It is would be so smart to get as organized as possible and not be afraid to ask for help with it. Using time efficiently is the best thing in the world to do. Time management is very critical when it comes to not procrastinating, managing your time is the only way to get the most of your time and most of your things done. Learning the meaning of procrastination is the first step to take to over come it and get the work done.

Stop procrastinating with hypnosis and you’ll never have another day where you put something off that you should have done today. Everyone has things on their “To Do” list, that never seem to get done, or at least get pushed back for days on end. These things that don’t get done are always there, hanging around in the back of your mind. Sometimes these things, that seem so small, are the very things that stress people out. Here is a great hypnosis CD to help with procrastination: Click here!

Procrastination is a big problem for some people, because they spend more time thinking about getting something done, rather than just doing it. Does this mean that people are lazy? No, it doesn’t. It just means that most people are extremely busy and don’t always manage their time properly. You can stop procrastinating with hypnosis ,and never have to worry about getting everything done again!

Can you remember back when you had a large project to do, and once it was done, how great you felt?
It was a feeling of elation, and a sense of accomplishment. You can have this feeling every single day.
It would be especially nice, if you could accomplish these task, without having to use willpower. Hypnosis may be the answer for you.

You do not have to be afraid of hypnosis, because you are fully aware of your surroundings when you are hypnotized. You will however, be in a deep state of relaxation, which will allow your mind to retain suggestions that are given to you by the hypnotist. In some cases, your hypnotist may actually be on a CD or mp3 player.

Because you are in this deep state of relaxation, the suggestions you are given will stay in your subconscious, and you will find yourself doing these suggestions without the desire to put them off. Sometimes you will find yourself just doing a chore without even knowing why you felt like doing it. That’s hypnosis!

Some people react to hypnotic suggestions with just one session, while others make take several sessions. The important thing is, that you can stop procrastinating with hypnosis, and have that feeling of accomplishment in every area of your life!

If you are having a problem with procrastinating things, then reading this article most likely is not going to help you. Procrastination is having things to do and making up excuse after excuse of why you can not do them yet. If you only knew how many consequences there are to procrastinating, you get up off of the couch and get yourself in gear. Procrastinating is not going to get you any where, so lets talk about what you are facing. Lets talk about the consequences of procrastination.

Procrastination can hurt you in one of two ways. Externally or internally. A good example of an external consequence is that you get a zero on the paper because you did not do it. A good example of an internal consequence is when you start feeling anxious all of the time, even when you are doing something that you really like. If you do not do the dishes because you do not like to and you do not mind it when your kitchen sink is overflowing with dirty dishes, it is okay. But, when you start feeling bad about it, you know it is time to try to stop procrastinating.

Now, lets talk about the lost opportunities. Somebody else gets the job because you did not think about turning in the application. Some man bought that truck that you wanted because you never got around to going down to the car lot. Always being late because you did not leave home when you were supposed to is another reason to get going. It would be great to be the one in the front of the line at the DMV because you got up early and went.

When you start breaking promises, it is time to get help to stop procrastinating. Then, all of the consequences of procrastination would stop. You could be on top of things, for a change. If not, you will miss a deadline at work and you will lose your job. Then you cannot make the house payment. So, you are without a job AND a home. Come on, get some help.
